We have a defined practice area (shown above) of approximately 5 miles radius from Thornbury. If you move outside of this area you will need to re-register with another practice as we cannot continue to care for you at home.
How to Find Us
From Bristol – follow A38 North towards Aztec West Roundabout and M5 junction 16 or M32 to M4 Westbound, then 1/4 mile on Southbound M5 before coming off immediately and turning right on the A38 at the roundabout. The A38 continues North under the motorway past Almondsbury and towards Gloucester. After about 5 miles, Thornbury is signposted left at Alveston traffic lights (Thornbury Road, B4061). Follow this road down a fairly steep hill with Thornbury Leisure centre on the right and the golf course on the left. At the mini-roundabout (with Tescos on the right), go straight across into the top of the High Street, and turn next right into the short Chapel Street. Next left is St Mary Street, and the surgery is 30 yards on the left. There is a 2-hour short-stay car park immediately opposite, but if this is full or you need longer, there is another car park visible on the other side of the adjoining Rock Street: turn around and turn left out of St Mary Street back into Chapel Street. Turn left into Rock Street (opposite the Police Station), and immediate right into Bath Street to gain entrance to the mixed larger short and long-stay car park (opposite Somerfield supermarket).
From Gloucester – follow the A38 past Berkeley outskirts and through Stone and Falfield, or take the M5 to J14 and turn right at the exit traffic lights, then left onto the A38 at Falfield. Approximately 3/4 mile after Falfield, Thornbury is signposted right onto the B4061 (Gloucester Road). Take this road for approximately 2 miles past mostly arable land and finally into Thornbury itself. Continue straight through (mind the speed camera!) until you reach a mini-roundabout in the centre of town. Keep left/straight on at this into Quaker Lane which becomes Rock Street after a sharp bend, and past Aldi supermarket on the right. You have a choice of parking either in the mixed short/ long stay car park which is in Bath Street (the third turning left after the mini-roundabout) or the short stay car park immediately opposite the surgery (first right after the mini-roundabout and immediately right again into St Mary Street). The Surgery is between the gift shop (Surroundings) and Ladbrokes.
Access
The surgery is about 30 yards on the left from the top of St Mary Street, a no-through road, where it joins Chapel Street. Free car parking (2-hour short-stay) is available in St Mary Street car park immediately opposite the premises, and in Rock Street car park (short and long-stay), 100 yards away. Both car parks have disabled spaces.
There is easy access to our premises for the disabled and most facilities are at ground level. We do have some upstairs rooms, but if you cannot manage stairs you will be catered for on the ground floor. A hearing loop is provided for the hard of hearing.
