If you’ve been off sick for 7 days or less
If you’re off sick for less than 7 days, then your employer should not ask for medical evidence that you’ve been ill. Instead, they can ask you to confirm that you’ve been ill and that you’re well enough to return to work. This is called self-certification, and you can get the form from your employer or the government website
If you’ve been off sick for more than 7 days
If you’ve been off work sick for more than 7 days, then your employer might ask for a sick note to show evidence that you were not fit to work. You can request a sick note from the GP by using our online system called eConsult.
Alternatively, please contact the reception team on 413691 after 10.30am
