***2009 Seasonal Flu vaccination clinics now booking ******Follow this link for "Swine Flu" vaccination schedule***We are a three partner GP training practice, delivering friendly family medicine based at our purpose-built surgery premises in the centre of the market town of Thornbury, approximately 12 miles north of the centre of Bristol. The practice covers an area about 15 miles long from Almondsbury, just north of Bristol, up to Berkeley. The area is mostly rural apart from the main population centre of Thornbury and Alveston, and includes the villages of Oldbury-on-Severn, Olveston, Tockington and Tytherington. We are about 10 miles from Southmead and Frenchay hospitals. Thornbury is a pleasant market town with a population of about 15,000. There is a picturesque seventeenth-century High Street. Thornbury Castle was built by the Duke of Buckingham as a Tudor Palace and is now a splendid restaurant and local landmark. There is extensive surrounding countryside with good sports facilities and some good country pubs. All the facilities and entertainments of Bristol are within easy reach. The M4/M5 interchange and Bristol Parkway station (London 1 hour 20 minutes) are only 6 or 7 miles away. The town has good local facilities and a sense of community and local schools, both primary and secondary, have an excellent reputation.
